BRIEF HISTORY


      Saint Joseph College offers several courses, one of the is the accountancy. In the beginning the commerce was accountancy in the year 1957 that was the time of Reverend Sofronio Hacbang, Bishop of Samar and Leyte on February 20, 1928, and managed by the secular priest with the late father Sofio as the first School director.In later part of 1970’s to 1980’s the organization decided to have their own department, they were constructed and have their own facilities and to improve the department and accommodate more students and expand the instructurial resources, and it became the Bachelor of Science in Commerce. In 1990 the BSC involve into another course of BS Accountancy of an DESK government, The commerce had a new organizational set-up, which was headed by Crispin Arong, the DEAN, the Administration, faculty members, FCSO officers and the students. In modern facilities of BSC department oriented and offers majors like; Major in Banking and Finance, management Economics, Entreprenuership, management accounting and finance. The commerce was celebrated their Commerce Day every year. This year they celebrate their day on August 24 to 25, it long 2 days and they participated to the teachers and officers and the students to make their celebration amorously. This BSC department was of populated course of Saint Joseph College and now they have gone long way time it was open in 1957 up to the present. Its growth has been long due to the efforts and dedications of the DEAN, administrative, teachers, officers and the students.
