The Practical Nursing Program of Saint Joseph Colllege is duly registered under the Technical Education and Skills Developments Authority (TESDA) starting in June 2007. This is a preparatory program leading to a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. This is ladderized program from the University of Cebu on which all the subjects are accredited there. TESDA issued a certificated for Practical Nursing after finishing this two-year; thus, one could work as a licensed practical nurse or could opt working as a Nurse Aide, Hospital Assistant, Caregiver.

Nature of the Work

Nursing Aide is also known as nursing assistants, certified nursing assistants, geriatrics aides, unlicensed assistive personnel, orderlies, or hospital attendants-carry out the routine in the general care of the patients. They work under the direction of nursing and medical staff. Nursing Aides emloyed in nursing care fcilities often are the principal caregivers. Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) is the term used for those Nursing Aides who have completed state certification requirements to work in skilled nursing facilities especially those that accept Medicare residents.
