In a meaningful initiative to foster a healthier, more informed youth, Saint Joseph College successfully held a Drug Awareness and Health & Wellness Seminar for its Junior High School students on Friday morning, July 11. The half-day seminar ran from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and was held at the Mandia Gymnasium.
The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Health (DOH), City Health Unit, City Youth Development Office, and Saint Joseph College.
Program Highlights
The program opened with a solemn invocation led by Mr. Denver Cinco, followed by the singing of the national anthem.
Dr. Melodina L. De La Cruz, Principal of the Junior High School Department, delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the importance of early education on health issues and substance abuse prevention.
To ignite youthful energy and engagement, the opening was followed by a lively intermission number from student performers, celebrating the vibrancy and talent of the JHS community.
