The Saint Joseph College formally started its Family Day III with a theme: โHonoring Our Roots, Building Our Legacy,โ with a parade that brought together the students, faculty, and people in the community in a joyful celebration of unity and pride for the school. What started off as a cloudy-rainy day eventually turned into a meaningful display of excitement and enthusiasm from the Josephinians.
The parade was originally scheduled earlier, but the unprecedented rain caused a slight delay before the parade officially started at 3:40 in the afternoon. Instead of dampening the parade-goersโ spirits, the rain seemed to heighten the sense of anticipation for the parade to begin. Everyone eagerly prepared for the parade to start after the rain cleared up. SJCEF began its parade from the Main Campus towards the Extension Campus in Mambajao, Maasin City.
The activity was led by the students from the three academic clusters: STEM, HUMSS, and the combination of ABM and TVL strands. These students proudly represented their strands by donning colorful departmental shirts for each department. Their synchronized steps and energetic display showed not only their individuality but also their sense of being part of something larger than themselves, a sense of being part of the Josephinian community.
It became more exciting with the participation of the Elementary, High School, and College departments. Keeping the parade lively was the SJC Drum and Bugle Corps, whose energetic drumbeats brought joy to everyone after the rain cleared up. Despite the slight weather disturbance caused by the rain, the parade-goersโ spirits remained high and even intensified the sense of unity from the participants.
The parade was more than just the beginning of the most anticipated celebration; it was a display of unity from the Josephinians who showed that every step they take forward represents the theme of unity for Family Day.
