Saint Joseph College, through its Community Extension and Services Office (CESO), successfully held its annual community outreach program, Pamasko ni San Jose, in Barangay Combado, Maasin City. The event, conducted every December, continues to be a hallmark of the institution’s commitment to social responsibility, service, and compassion.
This year, families in the school’s adopted barangay benefited from the distribution of essential goods such as rice, groceries and other necessities. The program aimed to provide relief to underprivileged households, especially during the Christmas season, while also reinforcing Saint Joseph College’s mission to instill generosity and solidarity among its students, faculty, and staff.
The activity began with the registration of beneficiaries, followed by opening messages from representatives of Saint Joseph College and local barangay officials. Volunteers facilitated the orderly distribution of gifts, ensuring that every recipient was served with dignity and care. Short messages of inspiration and interactive activities added meaning to the celebration.
CESO Director highlighted that the success of “Pamasko ni San Jose” is anchored in careful planning and collaboration. A needs assessment survey conducted last year continues to guide the program, which has the same objectives annually, with only the list of recipients varying each December.
The School President, Rev. Msgr. Oscar A. Cadayona, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the faculty, staff, students, and the local officials of Barangay Combado, Maasin City, for their invaluable contributions. He emphasized that “Pamasko ni San Jose” stands as a living testament to the college’s enduring commitment to its adopted community.
