In preparation for the natural occurrence of an earthquake, the faculty, maintenance, healthcare workers, and students from elementary, high school, and college departments of Saint Joseph College participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), prompting them to evacuate the campus to the designated evacuation area, Anatalio Gaviola Plaza, Maasin City at 3:00 p.m. on March 13, 2025.
Following the designated routes led by the Maasin City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and criminology interns, everyone performed the Duck, Cover, and Hold simultaneously.
This simulation is pivotal in enhancing awareness and preparedness for potential earthquakes and other devastating calamities.
