In pursuit of serving the institution, the Federation of College Student Organizations on April 26, 2025 led the special gathering at the Bishop Hacbang Gym for its annual program, an event that celebrated the accomplishments of the outgoing officers and the taking of responsibilities by the incoming officers from FCSO, departments, and clubs which marked a significant transition in leadership throughout the present academic year and up until the next.
The program initially commenced with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Rafael Convicto. In his homily, he reminded the student leaders of the essence of being leaders: the reality of suffering and service that drive the free will to serve like Jesus with the requirements of love, mercy, and compassion.
“We need to remember that just like Jesus, we also need to serve others as it leads us to salvation and resurrection and those whom we serve can experience that as well. It is not about authority, it is not about power nor position to dwell in suffering in certain hours, but the love of serving so that with them we can also experience hope for the rest of our lives,” shared Fr. Convicto.
This was followed by the inspirational words of Mrs. Joenisa M. Hoyla, the FCSO Adviser. In her speech, she appreciated the role of the officers and advisers for the successful past events and the future to come.
“I stand in awe of your brilliance, being the executives of the different communities of this world. Without you, no activity can materialize. So, let us celebrate the presence of each honor and will for the exciting and meaningful moments of each affair,” expressed Mrs. Hoyla.
The officers anticipated the awarding ceremony, which recognized outstanding achievements within various departments and extracurricular organizations, notably the FCSO. At this juncture, Mr. Gilo Nacario and Ms. Vierl Anne Reponte, the master of ceremonies, underscored the significant contributions of the loyal servants, inspiring the incoming officers to strive for excellence for the institution.
The ceremony also featured the words of gratitude of the governors, sharing their personal and collective stories in serving the Josephinian students, especially the institution. Additionally, how they conquered their setbacks, struggles, and uncertainties along the way of taking the responsibility of leading the different student organizations.
A meaningful turnover ceremony, symbolically passing the torch from the outgoing FCSO president and vice president to the new student leaders, respectively. The pledges of responsibility delivered by both students and advisers ensured their commitment to upholding the organization’s values and continuing its legacy of serving the Josephinian community.
