Curiosity and excitement filled every corner as the Saint Joseph College Elementary Department held its Math and Science Month Culmination on October 6, 2025, at the Bishop Hacbang Gym. With the theme, โ€œHarnessing the Unknown โ€” Powering the Future Through Science and Innovation,โ€ the event celebrated the talents, intellect, and collaboration of the young Josephinians.

The celebration commenced with the National Anthem, and a prayer that was led by Ms. Vanessa M. Misoles. After that, the eventโ€™s anchors, Lemuel Adrian B. Buhe and Cassandra Siega, greeted the audience, and their energy, which filled the gym, was a nice compliment to the excitement of the crowd. The program officially started with a solo performance by Kaiser Erickson P. Reodica, and the students, as well as the teachers, applauded his powerful voice as it earned him a lot of cheers. His performance was an excellent introduction to the fun and learning that was to come, and that was a great performance as well.

One of the highlights of the morning was the Math Unlocked Relay Contest, participated by students from Grades 4 to 6. Contestants had to solve layers of math problems in order to unlock the next challenge, and they passed their answers, relay-style. The last person in line received all the clues and phrase to solve a phrase, and that was a wonderful task. After some exciting competitions, Group 4 enjoyed their well-earned victory. Following this, there were the Investigatory Project Presentations, where SJCโ€™s budding scientists displayed their experiments and findings. Group 1, which consisted of Justin Nickolas P. Judila along with Jyln A. Dapigran and Cheyenne Mae E. Nombrad, showed the study โ€œThe Effects of Natural Fertilizer on the Growth of Mongo Seeds.โ€ Their collaboration and clarity made the audience appreciate their presentation.

Then, the audience had the opportunity to appreciate the musical performance of Jim Ford Rohan A. Ganosa, which was captivating. After the flurry of scientific activity, his performance was a welcome and refreshing change. Group 2 followed with their presentation on โ€œThe Effects of Light Exposure on the Growth of Mongo Seeds,โ€ which was delivered with confidence by Cassandra Siega, Marianne Yllah C. Acasio, and Jed Anthony D. Near. Their thorough explanation exhibited their dedication to scientific scholarship and inquiry. As the audience ate, Izac Ravyq P. Ausa and Rhian Sofia D. Sanchez, who were the shown, entertained with a captivating duet.

Next in line was the much-anticipated show of Science Under Pressure, a Squid Game-inspired challenge which was a perfect blend of fun, creativity, and science. The celebration ended on a joyful note with an energetic dance performance by the practice teachers of SJC, who encouraged everyone to dance, shout, and celebrate. The whole occasion showcased the studentsโ€™ enthusiasm for learning and exploration. They illustrated, with music, hands-on activities, and other forms of play, how science and math extend far beyond just equations and digits; they highlighted the inventiveness and wonder of the human spirit, and the ability to shape a better tomorrow.

The second part of the celebration took place at the CCN Mini Theater. The program opened with a solo performance by Adeline Lucyl Llena, who captivated everyone with her beautiful singing voice. After that, Ms. Ada Madeline, RMT, Medical Technologist I, led a talk on Physical Wellness, where she discussed its effects on the body and the importance of eating healthy foods. The students eagerly took part in the question-and-answer portion she prepared, showing their interest and curiosity.

Next, the students listened to an insightful talk about Anti-Bullying, delivered by Ms. Clarissa S. Torres, the schoolโ€™s Guidance Advocate. Her interactive and meaningful discussion helped the students understand how to stand against bullying and promote kindness and respect within the school community.

The event continued with Rev. Fr. Aldwin Flax S. Bagares,RN,MAN, Dean of the College of Nursing, who shared an inspiring lecture on mental health and prevention strategies. To energize the students, he started with a fun chicken dance, which filled the theater with laughter and joy before diving into his talk on how to care for oneโ€™s mental and emotional well-being.

To conclude the program, Ms. Lea B. Bohol, the Science and Math Coordinator, delivered a heartfelt message of thanks and presented certificates of appreciation to the guest speakers. The celebration ended on a cheerful note with the announcement and awarding of the winners from the different games and activities held throughout the Math and Science Month.
