In light of Mathematics Month, the XY Club celebrated its culmination through XY Night. Attended by the students, guest speakers, club heads, faculty, and dean, the opening of the classical, elegant Hollywood carpet gathering at the Cantabo Canticum Novum Mini Theater was at exactly 7:00 p.m. on October 5, 2025.
The program formally commenced through a grand entrance starting with the 1st-year math majors, followed by the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. Everyone was donned in classy, dazzling, and stunning suits and dresses, just perfect for the night’s affair. Up next to grace the carpet were the officers from Magdadalubhasa sa Filipino Klab, Young Catechist Society, English Major Society, D’Helping Hands Club, College of Teacher Education, XY Club, Alumni, Distinguished Guests, College of Teacher Education Faculty, XY Club Adviser, and the Dean of the College of Teacher Education.
“Na-excite ko sa injong looks. Indeed, you all look dazzling tonight. I encourage all the XY Club members to listen to the legacy of the XY Club,” an excerpt from the opening remarks of the XY Composite, Ms. Djoanna Sajol.
The XY Night featured alumni and alumnae from the XY Club sharing their XY Legacy Speeches: personal and academic journeys as math majors.
“First compensation: kung mo ingon ko nga congratulations, kamo ang mo-hatag ug pride and lights sa injong family puhon. Ang pag-ampo ug pag-salig lang sa Ginoo ang atong panglaban sa kanunay,” said Mr. Julius Celio.
“Math itself has more meaning: it is not just more than a subject; it is also a teacher, a guide, and even a mirror itself. With the right mindset, patience, and perseverance, math is like a puzzle that waits to be solved with a life-changing result,” said Ms. Jeanalyn Doron.
“Mathematics is everywhere. Simplify everything without compromising the quality of your work,” said Mr. Jimmy Urgel.
“Maningkamot ta kay at the end of the day, ang ato rang kaugalingon, ginikananan, ug nagtabang nato aron makalampos ang atong pasalamatan,” said Mr. Domingo Paler Jr. II.
“May the lessons we learned throughout this Mathematics month always remind us: gamay rata, pero solid,” an excerpt from the closing remarks of the XY Prime, Ms. Eunice Joy Castrudes.
The XY Night ended with spontaneous joy as memories were made, lessons were learned, and the inspiration to teach multiplied. The gathering was intended not only to highlight the XY Club’s successful culmination throughout the Mathematics month but also to recognize and inspire future educators who made this event possible.
