Ipinakita ng mga kalahok ang kanilang kahusayan at kakayahan sa iba’t ibang larangan sa ginanap na World Skills Philippines – Provincial Skills Competition 2026 sa lalawigan ng Southern Leyte.
Lumahok ang mga trainees mula sa iba’t ibang Technical Vocational Institution na nagtagisan sa siyam na kategorya ng kasanayan.
Layunin ng kompetisyon na ipamalas ang kaalaman, teknikal na kakayahan, at praktikal na husay ng mga kalahok, gayundin ang pagpapalaganap ng kahusayan sa teknikal na edukasyon at pagsasanay.

Ayon sa TESDA Southern Leyte Provincial Director Imelda C. Malatbalat, mahalaga ang ganitong mga aktibidad upang higit pang mapalakas ang kahalagahan ng teknikal na kasanayan at praktikal na kaalaman. Nagsilbi rin itong entablado para maipakita ng mga trainees ang kanilang talento at kahandaan sa larangan ng trabaho.
Dagdag pa rito, pinagtibay ng kompetisyon ang layunin ng mga institusyong teknikal na makapaghubog ng mga indibidwal na may sapat na kakayahan at kasanayan na makatutulong sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng ekonomiya at lipunan.
Patuloy namang inaasahan ang mas maraming ganitong programa upang mahikayat ang kabataan na pumasok sa teknikal na edukasyon at maging bahagi ng isang mas produktibong hinaharap.

TESDA Maasin City, Southern Leyte Successfully release Starter Toolkits to 2024 SMAW NC II STEP Scholars.
On April 29, 2026, TESDA – Maasin City, Southern Leyte successfully released starter toolkits to the Saint Joseph College VOCTRAC learners under the STEP taking up Shielded Metal Arc Welding. The distribution of toolkits aims to support the scholars in enhancing their practical skills and preparing them for future employment opportunities in the welding industry.
The activity reflects TESDA’s continued commitment to empowering scholars through quality skills training and livelihood support. The toolkits will serve as essential resources as the scholars apply the knowledge and skills they gained during the training and prepare for future employment opportunities in the transportation industry.
