In honor of the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, the institution’s Patron Saint, the Saint Joseph College Educative Family (SJCEF), along with other faithful, converged for a Holy Mass this morning.
Faculty members, students, and teaching and non-teaching staff from various departments gathered at the Maasin Cathedral-Shrine, upholding both self-reflection and realization as they commemorated how Saint Joseph’s simple obedience brought us to salvation.
The Holy Mass commenced with the prayer of the Holy Rosary. After reciting the rosary, the Josephinians faced the front of the Altar of the Lord as the Holy Mass commenced, presided over by Most Rev. Precioso D. Cantillas, Bishop of Maasin and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. In his homily, Bishop Cantillas said:
โSaint Joseph, a model, silent guide, never speaks a recorded gospel, yet he speaks that no gospel could ever do.”
“Your future will not be shaped based on your own self, but on who you choose to listen to. The world challenges you, but being courageous, like Joseph, will make you stronger,” he added.
His Excellency encouraged the Josephinians to carry the life of Saint Joseph as one educative family.
“The greatest fulfillment is not about reaching your achievements in life, but the meaningful obedience you offer to God.”
Saint Joseph does not speak loudly, but he still guides.
He listens. He obeys. And just like his works, yours can be greater too. So say โyesโ with your whole life.
Happy Solemnity, Saint Joseph!
