In light of commitment, dedication, and service, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) achieved more milestones, including the Internsโ Pinning Ceremony held at the Cantabo Canticum Novum Mini Theater on December 6, 2025. This highly anticipated program brought together aspiring facilitators of learning, their proud families, and faculty in a day full of gratitude and acknowledgement.
Prior to the Pinning Ceremony, the College of Teacher Education attended a Holy Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Maasin-Cathedral, blessing the aspiring facilitators with guidance and supervision. Filled with the sacredness of the Holy Eucharist and the warm support of one another, interns dedicated their personal intentionsโsafety, success, and satisfactionโfor their off-campus deployment.
After the mass, respective families gathered at the CCNMT for a brief orientation delivered by Dr. Beverly B. Fernandez, CTE Dean, informing them about the responsibilities and expectations of their childrenโs future deployment. Then, the program officially commenced with the traditional Processional March of interns, along with their parents.
Delivering the Statement of Purpose, Dr. Beverly B. Fernandez shared the true essence of teaching: not merely as a profession but as a lifelong service to shaping minds and transforming lives.
Giving the inspirational talk, Mr. Hemeh Luck M. Maravillas, LPT, MS, touched the audience with his personal reflections as a former student leader.
“To teach not only with skill, but with heart, integrity, and purpose.โ
Mr. Maravillas also reminded the pre-service teachers to have some time for themselves, as this is one of the vital aspects of being teachers.
“Don’t let the system swallow you. Take care of yourself, too.”
Following was the Pledge of Commitment, led by Mr. Ralph Vincent M. Maraon, CTE Governor, where pre-service teachers sincerely promised to follow the values of service, excellence, and integrityโprinciples that possess the CTEnian identity.
Delivering the closing remarks, Mrs. Leonisa Demeterio, CTE Faculty, recognized the selfless guidance of the parents, dean, and the entire faculty of the College of Teacher Education.
The CTE Pinning Ceremony ended as a collective acknowledgement of the enduring spirit of teaching. As the newly pinned pre-service teachers thrilled to enter their respective classrooms, they possessed with them the dreams for their loved ones, the learnings from their faculty, and the mission of their alma materโto educate learners, to shape minds, and to lead the community with excellence.
