The English Month Celebration of the English Majors’ Society reached the zenith of its journey as they held the ENGMASOC Ball 2025 at the SOLECO Gymnasium on the evening of December 13, 2025. With the theme โThe Phantom of the Opera,โ every English major was fashioned up in elegant, sophisticated, Victorian-styled clothing, reflecting the Paris Opera House setting.
Before the official commencement of the program, all the guests and students lined up for the processional march. Walking through the red carpet, their aristocratic attire permeates a mysterious and dramatic aura throughout the gymnasium. After the march, dinner was served, satiating everyoneโs palate.
The program proper commenced with an opening address from Ms. Joy Libres, the ENGMASOC Secretary, greeting every guest and student with warm hospitality. Thereafter, a performance from Mr. Jeewee James Resos enlightened the atmosphere with his deep, resonant voice as he sang his ballad.
Then, the ENGMASOC Mayor, Mr. John Russel Manlangit, gave his Mayoral Address to the audience, sharing his journey and reflection as the societyโs leader.
โI love my jobโI have toโand because I love all the things that compose this great society, there are no regrets, because love is freely given and love can sustain itself, and though unreciprocated, there are no regrets.โ
The highlight of the evening, the cotillion dance, began. The performers stepped into the center stage, claiming the spotlight for a moment. Every step, every movement, emanating grace and grandeur.
Afterwards, the awarding ceremony began, granting the participants awards for their accomplishments during the competitions. As the winners were announced, Team Littรฉrateurs, with pride and honor, took the title of champion for this yearโs English Month celebration.
The event concluded with a closing remark from the ENGMASOC Adviser, Mr. Chester Fernandez, sharing his insights for the occasion. Subsequently, the disco kicked off, with every student and guest enthusiastically dancing, relishing the moment.
Language is still powerful, and ideas can change the world.
Long Live the English Majorsโ Society!
