In a heartwarming celebration of commitment, dedication, and lifelong service to education, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) marked another milestone, including the September Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) Passers Honoring Program held at Combado Gym, Brgy. Combado, Maasin City, on January 8, 2026. This highly anticipated program drew together licensed facilitators of learning, facilitators in the making, and faculty members in a day full of gratitude and acknowledgment.
Prior to the Honoring Program, the College of Teacher Education attended a Holy Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Maasin-Cathedral, blessing the LPT passers and aspiring facilitators of learning with guidance and blessings. Filled with the sacredness of the Holy Eucharist and the success of their Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) journey, passers dedicated their personal intentionsโUphold, Serve, and Shapeโfor the answered prayer.
After the mass, the LPT passers participated in a motorcade around Maasin City. The program then officially commenced with the traditional Processional March of passers, all wearing radiant smiles.
Delivering the Welcome Message, Dr. Beverly B. Fernandez, LPT, shared the true essence of teaching: โIt is not only about competency but also about lifelong service to shaping minds and developing good characters. It is both a profession and a mission.โ
Giving the inspirational talk for the different majors, Mr. Jhonsen Bacala, LPT, touched the audience with his personal reflections: โDapat magkugi, have confidence, and set high standards for yourself. You must learn to have faith, trust, and patience.โ
This was followed by Ms. Lourei Joy Mata, LPT, who shared her motivational story: โI did pass the LET not for validation, but for my family, friends, and those who helped me. Way pobre kung dako ka ug pangandoy.โ
As the last speaker, Mr. Arn Christler Mercedes, LPT, recalled his journey as a former student leader: โIt seems like yesterday. The nostalgic feeling: wala lang damha nga kami pa ang nagfacilitate sa honoring program sa una, karon kami na ang gihonoran. Kung asa ra ang imong limit, anha mostart ug grow ang power ni God.โ
The LEPT Honoring Program concluded as a collective acknowledgment of the enduring spirit of teaching, upholding the alma materโs mission to educate learners, shape minds, and facilitate learning with excellence.
