July 11, 2025 โ€” The Saint Joseph College โ€“ Accountancy Department marked a significant milestone as it successfully held its First General Assembly, a vibrant and meaningful gathering that set a spirited tone for the Academic Year 2025โ€“2026.

From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the event overflowed with heartfelt moments, engaging presentations, and interactive activities, all aimed at fostering a deeper sense of community and shared purpose among students and faculty.

The program opened with a solemn prayer led by Roselle Tagra, followed by the Philippine National Anthem rendered by Loujille Soriano, and the Saint Joseph College Hymn, presented by the Multimedia Team.

A warm and energized Welcome Address from Department President Fran Andrew I. Espedilla set the tone for the afternoon, inspiring all attendees. Adding a touch of local culture and joy was a lively Balitaw intermission by Attila Siega and Kevin Ampoan.

The spotlight was then cast on the Faculty, Young Leaders’ Alliance (YLA), and Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) Officers โ€” the dedicated individuals entrusted to lead and guide the department forward.

๐Ÿ“Š Bookkeeper Samantha Raye Salvatiera presented the Departmentโ€™s Financial Statements, followed by Executive Vice President Jhoriz Pino, who outlined the Academic Year Calendar, aligning everyone with upcoming events and goals.

A graceful vocal solo performance gave attendees a reflective pause, followed by the Budget Plan and Contribution Breakdown presented by Budget Officer Illona Reign Salabao and VP for Finance Ma. Teresa Ano, ensuring transparency and financial clarity.

โœจ The assembly soared in energy with the much-awaited ACCOUNTRIX performance, showcasing student creativity and department spirit.

๐ŸŽค One of the most powerful highlights was the Inspirational Talk from JPIA Adviser Melchor S. Obligado, CPA, MBA, who reminded everyone that the accounting journey is not just about numbersโ€”but about purpose, growth, and passion.

โ€œAccountancy is beyond that. To thrive in this journey, you must first look within; understand your purpose, focus on your own path, and never let pressure consume you. Instead, let it fuel your determination.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฌ The crowd favorite was the โ€œGetting to Know Each Otherโ€ segment hosted by Johnn Clint Tan and the Vice Presidents for Non-Academics, where students โ€œbooked appointmentsโ€ and freely interacted โ€” building bonds and transforming strangers into friends, classmates into family.

๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ The event closed on a high-energy note with a Mob Dance led by VPs Marjou Dalan and Maricar Kuizon, followed by Closing Remarks from Dean Tristan Jun G. Esclamado, CPA, MBA, who left everyone with words of hope, unity, and purpose.

JPIA POWER!

This general assembly was more than just a departmental meeting โ€” it was a celebration of identity, connection, and a shared dream. As our adviser said:

โ€œMahal ang gasolina, mahala ang gasolina.โ€
Love what keeps you going. Let your passion be the fuel that drives you toward achieving your dreams.
