Last August 5, 2025, at Bishop Cantillas Gym of Senior High School, we officially welcomed the Language Month celebration with the theme: โThe Cultivation of Filipino and Native Languages: Historical in Building the Nation. โ
The program of our principal Angely Pajao and Shaira Esquejo was formally started, which started with a prayer, followed by the national anthem led by Ms. Camille Rosejoy Kirong. After this, the club adviser of Hiraya’t Kampilan, Ms. Ivy Samaco Melorin, gave the opening message to officially open the event.
Everyone’s joy increased when Mae Ann Natad sang a powerful and amazing performance. But it doesn’t end here yet! Our brave and talented Josephinians excelled in a spectacular display of our national martial artโArnis.
After entertaining intermission numbers, Ms. Ivy explains the contests that will be held for Language Month. The atmosphere got even happier when the race game began. Each strand assembled ten people to take part in traditional games such as sack race and Maria Went to Town. Laughter and cheers echoed throughout the gym as each strand displayed teamwork and determination to win.
After the fun games, Ms. Ivy officially opened the booths where the creative designs of each strand and different Filipino food can be seen.
As the celebration ended, Ms. Gracelda Amomonpon gave a message to formally end the program.
This month is a reminder of the importance of our culture and how our traditional practices unite us. Celebrate! Filipino Language, Language of Change!
