On December 15, the JPIANs held their annual General Assembly at the Cantavo Canticum Novum Mini-Theatre. At exactly 2 in the afternoon, the program formally commenced with a prayer led by Ms. Jane Galamiton as she asked for guidance and a successful event.

Mr. Johnn Clint Tan delivered the welcoming message, sharing his gratitude especially to the CPA passers and to his fellow accounting students for their attendance in the Honoring and Thanksgiving Ceremony and General Assembly.

The spotlight illuminated the four CPA passers, highlighting their attendance that was made possible and their passing act that gave inspiration to the aspiring accountants. Only two had the fortunate time to attend, whilst the other twoโ€”Ms. Mary Jyn Lor, CPA, and Ms. Hazel Mulig Hibaya, CPAโ€”were still acknowledged like the rest.

Before they sauntered up to the stage, a song rendition entitled โ€œThe Climbโ€ was first offered to them by. Ms. Elvie Baluranโ€”a soulful melody extended in recognizing the reputed passers.

The testimonial speech by the CPA passers then began: โ€œSometimes our expectations will not always match Godโ€™s executions. Sometimes those closed doorsโ€”those rejectionsโ€”are just our protection, the delays are just preparations, and our failures are just a foundation to something bigger to prepare us for something better for our life,โ€ Ms. Lucille Marie Pilo, CPA, said in her speech, accentuating the fact that passing 10 years after her graduation was not a hindrance to stop trying, as she knew that when her time would come, He would guide her to her glory, which she did arrive at.

The second testimonial speech was given by Ms. Rexiel Ann Purcon, CPA: โ€œWe do not need to feel confident all the time; we just need to be present and willing. Growth happens not in moments of comfort but in moments when we choose to show up despite fear. Sometimes the bravest thing we could do is simply show up.โ€ Hurdles such as doubts and distractions were present in her short journeyโ€”5 months after graduation to review being her preparationโ€”but she was determined that showing up matters the most, as it opens up the chances of getting to your destination.

Mr. Tristan Jun Esclamado, Dean of the Accountancy Department, took the microphone and shared a verse of his advice that stuck in the hearts of many as how it should be: โ€œIt doesnโ€™t matter when you graduate, when you pass the exam, and how many times you take the exam, as long as [common denominator] you do not give up.โ€

These two CPA passers were a contrast between each other; the first one graduated back in 2015, and the latter just in 2025. But they had one thing in common, the very thing that met at the end of the horizon: they passed because they always tried, despite the pressure of time constraints. Both were commendable in their own ways and did it in their right times.

The awarding of the last semesterโ€™s Deanโ€™s listers and the recognition of the Star Jโ€™s then followed. This notion was where we perceive and acknowledge the undying efforts and perseverance of the students who had been showing up and taking action under different circumstances.

The awarding of the Pre-RMYC and RMYC participants came next, recognizing their wins and participations in the RMYC Contest in Ormoc City. This was then followed by the intermission number by TRIKVAN, the same team that made the JPIANs proud in the previous contest, delivering their commendable skills in dancing and stage presence that shook the stage with their impact.

The tone of the event then shifted to a more earnest moment when Ms. Jhoriz Piรฑo, Governor of the Accountancy Department, introduced the financial statements and the budget plan for the second semester and the Amendments of the Constitution and By-Laws.

The event was then closed by Dean Esclamado, who gave heed to the concerns of the students, shared his view on the Amendments of the Constitution and By-Laws, and reassured everyone that each of their moments will surely come when the program is given with timeless efforts and taken with great responsibility.
