On March 6, 2026, the Saint Joseph College Department gathered at the SJ Garden to celebrate the institutional First Friday Mass. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Msgr. Oscar A. Cadayona, the School President, bringing students, faculty, and staff together in prayer and reflection during the Lenten season.

Josephinians offered their personal intentions and thanksgiving as they participated in the solemn celebration. The readings of the day reflected the theme of betrayal, recalling how Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and how the tenants in the Gospel betrayed the owner of the vineyard.

In his homily, Rev. Msgr. Oscar A. Cadayona emphasized the importance of self-reflection during Lent and encouraged the faithful to recognize the ways they may have betrayed God through sin and shortcomings. He also highlighted the importance of confession through the Sacrament of Reconciliation as a way to seek forgiveness and receive God’s grace.

The First Friday Mass concluded with a renewal call for repentance, prayer, and faithful observance of Lenten practices. May this celebration remind the Josephinians to continue bearing the fruits of love, faith, and hope as they prepare their hearts for the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
