Honoring Young Brilliants

In celebration of youthful academic triumph, the Elementary Department of Saint Joseph College honored the Grades 1 to 5 pupils during the Academic Excellence Awards and Recognition Ceremony for the academic year 2024-2025 on April 25, 2025, at the Bishop Hacbang Gym, supporting proud families and devoted facilitators in the academic success of the pupils.

Bearing the theme of excellence and quality in holistic education, the ceremony began with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Mark Ortega. In his homily, he gave importance to the role and value that truly define what true success is — prayer.

“We get to acknowledge, thank, and praise God as we achieve the achievements and awards by praying. After praying, we tend to get inspired by our parents, studies, and the future,” said Rev. Fr. Ortega.

To formally commence the ceremony, Mrs. Nivea B. Pelin, the emcee, happily introduced the school principal, Mrs. Rosemarie B. Cortel, MAEd. In her welcome address, she expressed her heartfelt remarks, highlighting the hard work and perseverance of the pupils and parents throughout the academic year.

Following the welcome address was the ceremonial Giving of Awards, led by Mrs. Riza Lynn O. Siega, MCS, Vice President for Administration. The various awards were given by grade level by their respective advisers, starting from Grade 1 through Grade five, each pupil walking to the stage with a spark of happiness in their eyes and applause from their supportive classmates and parents.

The ceremony successfully culminated with priceless recognition acquired from the institution’s mission and vision to nurture minds and build Josephinian characters.
